Do You Prefer To Dance or To Go on a Bicycle Ride?

WHY DON'T YOU DANCE? is a film by Isidora Ratković, who was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2000.

She is a student of film and theater directing on ASU in Sarajevo. Her short film Baka (2018) was screened in BH Film programme of Sarajevo Film Festival, and her Ritam Odgađanja (2019) was awarded as the best film of Sarajevo Film Festivals Teen Action Programme. In november 2020., she won the award for best student project in development on 18. Zagreb Film Festival Youth Pitching Forum.

“The film is about a young couple moving into an apartment to live together. Pressured by responsibilities, they leave the new home for a bicycle ride that brings them to a yard full of things for sale- things from the life one man is leaving behind.”, Isidora describes the film.

WHY DON’T YOU DANCE? is Isidora’s student film she created in the second year of her studies and she has written and directed it when she was 20 years old. DOP on the film was Alen Alilović, her older colleague, who finished camera studies at the same Academy. She cooperated also with other of her older colleagues Helena Vuković (main actress), Saša Krmpotić (main actor) and renowned Bosnian actor Mirsad Tuka.
