Vít Klusák, The Jury Chair

Vít Klusák, a renowned Czech film director and documentary filmmaker, will serve as the Jury Chair of the inaugural International Children and Youth Film Festival in Prague (TeenFilmFest) 2019. His documentary comedy Czech Dream (2004, co-directed with Filip Remunda) was awarded at festivals home and abroad, and broadcasted by 24 TV stations worldwide. His current In the Network documentary focuses on children being sexually harassed on the Internet.

Biography

Vít Klusák graduated from the FAMU Academy’s Department of Documentary Film under prof. Karel Vachek and Helena Třeštíková supervision. In 2003, Vít together with Filip Remunda established the Hypermarket Film, a company dealing with documentary films production. Vít Klusák functions as the head of the first year of documentary filmmakers’ workshop and lectures “Fundamentals of Film Speech” at the FAMU Academy. His Czech Peace (2010) documentary premiered at the Michael Moore Festival in Traverse City. The feature documentary grotesque All for the Good of the World and Nošovice won the 2011 Czech Lion Award for the Best Documentary Film. Apart from being a film director, Vít also functions as a cinematographer, editor, script writer and producer.
