Jan Raus, Festival PR & Technical Support

Jan was born in the early 1970s in České Budějovice, lived in Strakonice, studied in Písek and in spite of living in the capital for over two decades he has kept to be a proud South Bohemian patriot. Since the 1990s he has been actively taking part in cultural and social events as a member of various rock bands as well as an organizer, dramaturg and producer. He continues in these activities to date, mainly as a line & event producer of cultural events as well as technician. Jan has worked for the Czech Radio’s Technical Operation Department since 2010, co-operated with various music festivals and taken part in organizing several art exhibitions. Jan was also a co-founder and part of the organizing team of an inaugural multi-genre festival Strakonice Not Only for Itself 2015. In co-operation with the Czech TV, he took part in production of the “X Punk, Alias 20 Years with a Mohawk” music documentary, unfinished after an unexpected death of its director Vladislav Kvasnička. Jan is an ardent blogger, writing on cultural and social topics, and functions as an editor and collaborator of various internet and print media. His activities involve a non-profit sector too, such as acting as a grant specialist for the Municipal Office of Town Písek. Currently, Jan is preparing the KATALYZÁTOR multimedia project, a series of broadcasts of public discussions on controversial topics in the Czech society.
